Willows, CA – It was pretty rough travelling home from Las Vegas all day yesterday and then up to Thunderhill today for the final round of the comp series, but it was well worth it. I was able to get Geoff to secure the usage of the track’s Gradall to lift me up and over the DriftPad for some unique camera angles.
The competition itself was small – only 9 drivers entered this time – but the skill level was good. Gabe Stone in his 3rd Gen Camaro even forced a one-more-time against 2nd-ranked Julian Jacobs in the top 4 but Jacobs ultimately snatched the win. Stone beat out Jared Thompson (in yet another borrowed car) for third place, and Jacobs lost the win to top-ranked Ryan Kado.
Kado won the series with 580 points overall, followed by Jacobs with 560, Thompson with 444, Stone with 405, and Scott Sherod with 319.
